Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Determined to Land Isco, Latest Rumours
Arsenal are intent on signing Real Madrid’s midfield maestro Isco, but the Spanish international feels as though he still has a future with the La Liga giants, according to reports.
Fichajes (h/t Tom Olver of Metro) claim Gunners boss Arsene Wenger remains keen on bringing Isco to north London. Olver notes that Arsenal are “committed” to going through with the transfer, even though recent injuries to Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez have opened up more first-team chances for the 23-year-old.
Here’s a closer look at what he is capable of producing when at his very best:

Isco probably wouldn’t make it into Real Madrid’s best team, with Rodriguez, Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo likely to occupy those front four berths. So it’s feasible, with opportunities likely to be at a premium overall, the former Malaga man may seek to pursue pastures new.
Still, the La Roja star is a very useful talent to have around the squad. As we can see here courtesy of WhoScored.com, Isco is not only a wonderful dribbler, but his end product is tremendous as well:
Isco’s adaptability will also be a key factor for Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez. He is a young player who can play behind the striker, on the flanks or even, as he did at times during the 2014-15 season, in a withdrawn midfield position. That versatility is something the coach will treasure as the rigours of a long season eventually take their toll.

Arsenal may be an intriguing proposition for Isco. Wenger’s side certainly play a brand of football that would be well suited to the Spaniard’s array of technical qualities, and such is his positional flexibility, there are a variety of areas in which the Madrid man could fit into the team at the Emirates Stadium.
But as the report suggests, Isco seems settled in Madrid despite reports linking him with a move away. That much was evident here, as the gleeful midfielder recently showcased his panache during training with Los Blancos, per SocialRMadrid:
"Isco with some skills during training today. #HalaMadrid pic.twitter.com/1LMZtN1Vj9
— SocialRMadrid (@SocialRMadrid) September 25, 2015"Isco is a superb talent and a player who would become of the best in the Premier League should he decide enough is enough at the Santiago Bernabeu. He’d slot straight into this Gunners setup too.

But Arsenal shouldn’t be spending big money, which Isco would undoubtedly cost, on another intricate, slight, attacking midfielder player. Already their squad is awash with these types, while centre-forward and centre-midfield remain continually unaddressed by Wenger. Isco would be a star for Arsenal, but looking at the players available to the manager currently, a big indulgence too.
