Andrew Quarless Injury: Updates on Packers TE's Knee and Return

Andrew Quarless suffered a knee injury and did not return to the Green Bay Packers' Week 3 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. An MRI on Tuesday revealed Quarless has a sprained MCL in his left knee, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

How Quarless' Injury Will Impact Packers

Quarless had only two catches for 14 yards when he left the contest, and he wasn’t a factor in the Packers attack in the first two weeks. However, any injury to a Green Bay pass-catcher is notable because Jordy Nelson (knee) is out for the year, Randall Cobb dealt with lingering injuries before the season and Davante Adams was also forced to miss the second half of Monday’s game after suffering an ankle injury.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is an offensive force, but even he needs healthy targets to throw to if the Packers plan on fulfilling their Super Bowl aspirations.

Fortunately for Green Bay, Richard Rodgers is the main tight end in the rotation and caught a touchdown pass in the team’s Week 2 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. The team will ask him to shoulder more of the offensive load until Quarless is able to return, and Rodgers has looked the part in the early going this year.
