College Football Week Three Predictions: Spread and Straight Up
Last week, I went 4-3 against the spread and 5-2 straight up. For the season so far I am 8-9 against the spread and 12-5 straight up.
Friday
Boise State at Fresno State (+7)
The Broncos have too much offensive firepower for the Bulldogs to keep up.
Winner: (Spread) Boise State; (Straight Up) Boise State
Saturday
Navy at Pittsburgh (-7.5)
The Midshipmen played well against Ohio State in the opening week of the season and I look for them to perform well in this game also.
Winner: (Spread) Navy; (Straight Up) Pittsburgh
Boston College at Clemson (-7)
The Eagles are having a down year and the Tigers are looking to bounce back from their disappointing loss on the road to Georgia Tech. Look for C.J. Spiller to have a big game.
Winner: (Spread) Clemson; (Straight Up) Clemson
Connecticut at Baylor (-10.5)
The Huskies played well last week against North Carolina, but they will not be able to contain the Bears offense. Quarterback Robert Griffin is an absolute stud.
Winner: (Spread) Baylor; (Straight Up) Baylor
Florida State at BYU (-8)
The Seminoles are ready to make a statement and their defense is fast enough to slow down Max Hall and the BYU offense.
Winner: (Spread) Florida State; (Straight Up) BYU
Georgia at Arkansas (-2)
The Bulldogs defense will stop the Razorbacks.
Winner: (Spread) Georgia; (Straight Up) Georgia
California at Minnesota (+13.5)
The Bears are on a mission this season. Behind Jahvid Best, they will go up and down the field in this potential trap game against the Golden Gophers.
Winner: (Spread) California; (Straight Up) California
Tennessee at Florida (-30)
Vols coach Lane Kiffin said in the offseason that they were going to beat Florida. Well, that's not going to happen. However, Tennessee has enough weapons to cover the spread. I also thing the Gators will come out too pumped up and make a few early turnovers.
Winner: (Spread) Tennessee; (Straight Up) Florida
It's a pretty good weekend of football across the board. So sit back in your recliner and enjoy all the games you can on Saturday. And finally, Go Tigers!
