B/R's Tag Team Tournament: Quarter-Finals
With the second round now over, only eight teams are left standing, and it's time for the quarter-finals to begin. The second round featured some upsets, and such teams as LAX, Legacy, Los Guerreros, and The Hart Foundation have been eliminated.
Let the quarter-finals begin.
The Hardy Boyz vs. Harlem Heat
It's safe to say that, in my opinion, The Hardy Boyz pulled off the upset in the second round, eliminating The Hart Foundation.
Harlem Heat also did well with the elimination of LAX. Although these two teams have never met in the ring, this would be an exciting match.
Harlem Heat is much bigger and stronger than Matt and Jeff, but the Hardy's would have the advantage in speed. Both teams work well together and this would prove to be an interesting brothers vs. brothers tag match.
Who wins?
The Motor City Machineguns vs. The British Bulldogs
The Machineguns were able to beat Paul London and Brian Kendrick in the last round while The Bulldogs got through Legacy.
I referred to Sabin and Shelley as tag team specialists in an earlier article, and I'm not taking it back. They are smaller than most teams, but what they can accomplish as a team in the ring is exceptional. They would easily be faster than The British Bulldogs and in my opinion would work better as a tag team.
With that said, Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid were a team to fear. They were very aggressive and powerful, and not many tag teams could match strength with them.
Who advances?
Edge and Christian vs. Beer Money Inc.
Edge and Christian eliminated the great tag team of Los Guerreros in the last round and Beer Money Inc. also pulled off an upset when they won against the APA.
Edge and Christian are probably one of the smartest teams in history. They weren't the biggest, they weren't the fastest, but they were simply the best.
Roode and Storm have looked great together, and they continue to evolve, but their experience as a team is their weak point in this match.
Beer Money has won against some of the best teams in TNA, but Edge and Christian can say the same.
Who's the better team?
Team 3D vs. The Road Warriors
Both these teams have each eliminated a great tag team in the last round. Team 3D took out The New Age Outlaws while The Road Warriors eliminated Demolition.
These two teams have done it all; together they have won tag team titles in the WWE, WCW, ECW, NWA, TNA, and AWA. If that's not impressive, I don't know what is.
Although Team 3D have won gold more times than The Road Warriors, it also means they lost them more often, too.
Who would have the strength advantage or the speed advantage? I don't know, these two teams are as evenly matched as any other duo. Both teams work so well together and have beaten some of the most dominating teams in history.
Who advances?
There you go: the eight remaining teams all competing to get into the semi-finals. Please leave your votes in the comment section.
