UK Back Pages: Brendan Rodgers Won't Walk Away from Liverpool

Mark BollonsSep 25, 2015

Two stories dominate the back pages of the Saturday newspapers in the United Kingdom this week.

Brendan Rodgers and his fight to survive at Anfield is the leading football story, with both the Daily Mirror and the Daily Star leading with news that the Northern Irishman won't walk away from the club despite intense scrutiny on his job.

The other main football story of note comes in The Times, who lead with Mauricio Pochettino's quotes on Harry Kane. The Spurs boss claims his striker is struggling this season because of his international involvement over the summer.

The Sun also had a football lead on the back page, although they were the only paper to have Sepp Blatter "Bang to Rights".

It's the Rugby World Cup that dominates the other nationals, with England and Wales set to meet in a huge Group A encounter at Twickenham.
