WWE Hell in a Cell 2015: Titles Most Likely to Change Hands at Event

Donald WoodSep 25, 2015

With WWE’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view highlighting the month of October, many fans are focused on which titles are most likely to change hands at the event.

The PPV will undoubtedly be headlined by the rubber match between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, so there will be less of an emphasis on title changes and more of a focus on the main event.

Even with few championships likely to change hands, here are the best possible options.

Dudley Boyz Win Tag Team Championships

The only championships that are almost certainly changing hands are the tag team titles. The Dudley Boyz have been hunting The New Day and their belts since returning to WWE, and Hell in a Cell is the perfect stage to change champions.

The New Day have been the most entertaining part of Raw and SmackDown each week, and the interactions with The Dudley Boyz take the feud to another level. With a great heel to work against, the faces would be dependent on nostalgia.

That is most certainly not the case in the matchup of The Dudley Boyz vs. The New Day.

The hope is that WWE has the foresight to book a match that will act as a true marquee midcard highlight and add a table-match stipulation. With two of the most entertaining teams in wrestling going head-to-head, this is the perfect spot to have the titles change hands.

Paige Costs Charlotte the Divas Championship

The only titles likely to change hands are the tag team belts, but a dark horse for a shocking loss would be Paige costing Charlotte the Divas Championship during her rematch against Nikki Bella.

Paige has shown nothing but disrespect to her former friend since turning heel, and the ultimate way to show her distaste for Charlotte would be by interfering and helping Nikki win back the Divas title.

While it wouldn’t make much sense from a long-term storyline perspective, Paige costing Charlotte the win and the belt would start a bitter rivalry between two of the most talented Divas on the roster.

In addition to the feud between Paige and Charlotte, Nikki winning the title back would set the stage for Sasha Banks to get a shot at the title. The Boss would be a favorite to steal the championship at the following PPV if that match were to come to fruition.

Besides That, Titles Won’t Be Changing Hands

Besides the Tag Team Championships and potentially the Divas Championship, there are few other titles likely to change hands at Hell in a Cell next month.

Seth Rollins will likely defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Kane, and there is no way he will drop the belt in that matchup. For Kevin Owens and John Cena, the two men just won their respective secondary titles, and it wouldn’t make any sense for them to lose now.

With the focus of Hell in a Cell on Lesnar vs. Undertaker, the WWE Universe shouldn’t be expecting much in terms of title changes. Besides The Dudley Boyz winning tag team gold, the rest of the belts will remain with their owners.
