Twitter Reacts to FA's Ruling on Diego Costa and Gabriel Paulista Bans

Tom WebbSep 22, 2015

Fans on social media simply have not stopped since Chelsea's controversial win over Arsenal on Saturday.

And there was no slowing down the fallout on Tuesday, as the FA decided to overturn Gabriel Paulista's three-match ban and instead applied the equivalent ban to Diego Costa. Naturally, there were a number of different reactions to the news:

Mental that Gabriel got his ban overturned. Makes a complete mockery of Mike Dean doesn't it?

"

Baffling considering Wenger accepted the decision to send off Gabriel in his post match press conference.

The hashtag #CampaignAgainstChelsea got a lot of attention:

"

So according to the @FA - it's not OK to slap someone but it's absolutely fine kicking them! 😡 JOKE!! #CampaignAgainstChelsea #CFC

"

Anyone still doubt about the existence of the #CampaignAgainstChelsea?

"

Gabriel gets ban lifted for a kick. Matic pushed a guy for almost snapping his leg last season. Ban not lifted. #CFC #CampaignAgainstChelsea

While some Arsenal fans felt the game should be replayed:

"

How about they replay Saturdays game as well #Chelseacheats https://t.co/XAqGwItC8j

— Alex Morrow (@vblock) September 22, 2015"
"

.@FA when is the Chelsea-Arsenal replay lads?

— Zärä (@goonerathena) September 22, 2015"
"

So it was wrong to send him off resulting in arsenal losing the game with Chelsea so does that mean a replay and the ref been suspended ???

— bärry (@arsenalireland) September 22, 2015"
"

If the red card has been rescinded then there should be some sort of replay. Chelsea got the 3 points which is the main issue I have.

With the outcome of Gabriel's charge for improper conduct still to be heard, it's not over yet!
