David Beckham Responds Positively to James Bond Rumours

David Beckham has not been contacted over becoming the next James Bond, but he admits it's nice to be linked with the role.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Los Angeles Galaxy star has surprisingly found his name in the frame for one of the most famous roles Hollywood has to offer. Daniel Craig currently plays Bond, with the next movie, Spectre, set for release on Oct. 26, 2015, in the UK (released internationally on Nov. 6).

While Beckham appreciates the link to the MI6 secret agent, he admits it's not something he's "obviously up for doing."

He told ITV's Good Morning Britain:

I've definitely not been contacted, I'm definitely not obviously up for doing something like that, but it's nice to be linked I suppose. ...

... I was at the US Open and Sean Connery was two seats in front of me, and I'm such a big fan of his.

I was going to kind of knock him on the shoulder and say, "You know apparently I'm up for the next role!"

Beckham has made cameo appearances in films, including recent release The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and he is set for a bigger role in Guy Ritchie's next movie, Knights of the Roundtable.
