Barcelona Transfer News: Domenico Berardi Rumours Addressed, Marc Bartra Latest

Rob BlanchetteSep 21, 2015

Italian starlet Domenico Berardi is said to be the subject of interest from Barcelona, with the player's coach addressing rumours of a transfer to the Camp Nou.

Sassuolo manager Eusebio Di Francesco spoke about the highly-rated 21-year-old, via David Amoyal of GianlucaDiMarzio.com, saying that the forward is recovering from injury but is "worthy" of playing for one of the giants of European football:

"

He's feeling better, he was selected, he anticipated the timing, we'll be cautious. I see him serene and calm. He isn't in optimal shape, he's coming off an injury. We'll see if we can bring him in during the match. Barcelona want him? I don't know, at [the] moment he plays for Sassuolo and we'll enjoy him. He needs to develop, but he's a player worthy of a big team, the stats back that up.

Beradrdi is an inventive player who is naturally left-footed and mobile. However, he is content to play anywhere across the front line, making himself a strong candidate to fit into Barca's philosophy.

Sam Cunningham of the Daily Mail previously focused on the starlet last year and dubbed him as one of the best young players in Europe: "People love a rags-to-riches story, and Berardi has come from virtually nowhere to become one of the hottest teenage talents in world football."

Juventus have remained keen on the forward, who continues to shine for the Neroverdi, and are expected to bring him to Turin in 2016 thanks to a buyback clause, according to according to Amoyal.

Although not a centre-forward, the player has a phenomenal scoring record for his Serie A team, hitting 31 league goals in his past two seasons, as noted by WhoScored.com.

It is debatable whether Barca will be able to steal Berardi from the clutches of the Old Lady, as things stand, but he will certainly be on the radar of every big side on the continent.

Bartra Happy At Barca

Goalscoring hero Marc Bartra has spoken of his confidence in coach Luis Enrique and says that he expects to get further chances to shine in Barca's first team.

The player scored against Levante on Sunday night, expertly finishing to break the deadlock, and said that he is currently content with life at the treble winners, via Sport: "I had the luck that it was me who scored the first goal, but what's important is the work of the team. I think that it (my situation) is in my hands; it's about providing for and helping the team."

The Spain international looked comfortable in the starting XI against Levante, and the 24-year-old clearly expects increased playing time this term.

The defender only managed 11 La Liga starts last season, six less than the previous year, according to WhoScored, and would attract interest from many sides if he opted to leave Catalonia.

Berardi would be a wonderful capture for Barcelona, but it is unlikely they will be able to manufacture a situation where they could grab him soon.

Juve appear to be in control of the player's immediate future, but the temptation to join the Champions League holders would interest any emerging talent.

It is vital Barca retain the services of Bartra, as he showed on Sunday that he is a very capable defender. The centre-back has been in the club system since 2009, and his long-term development will have been a waste if he is not used more frequently in 2015-16.
