LeSean McCoy, Karlos Williams' Post-Week 2 Fantasy Advice

Timothy RappSep 20, 2015

It's deja vu for LeSean McCoy fantasy owners.

For the second week in a row, the Buffalo Bills star running back saw a touchdown opportunity taken away from him, as rookie Karlos Williams was given a handoff by the goal line and capitalized. Last week, Anthony Dixon did the same (and Williams had a longer touchdown run of his own).

Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports thinks this is more of a trend to start the season than an outlier:

McCoy continues to see the majority of the touches in the Buffalo backfield, but the team's willingness to regularly use all three backs is concerning for folks who drafted McCoy in the first round. Having a touchdown vulture to compete with often is the difference between a player being an RB1 and an RB2, and it could be argued that McCoy now has to contend with two touchdown vultures in Buffalo.

He's obviously a must-start player every week. He just might not be an RB1 lock at this point.

As for Williams, he is absolutely the preferred handcuff for McCoy and should be owned in all formats, especially by McCoy owners. If McCoy goes down to injury, Williams would instantly become a viable fantasy starter.
