Santi Cazorla Receives Red Card vs. Chelsea: Latest Details and Reaction
Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla faces a one-match ban after receiving two yellow cards in the club's 2-0 loss to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday. Referee Mike Dean showed him red after a dangerous sliding tackle on Cesc Fabregas in the second half of a chippy fixture.
The Gunners confirmed the Spain international's early exit in the 79th minute. It was the second red of the match for the visiting side, who also saw Gabriel sent off late in the first half. It was a first for the playmaker, as WhoScored.com observed:

Cazorla is now slated to miss the club's League Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, according to Fantasy iTeam. He'll then be available to return when Arsenal face Leicester City in Premier League action next weekend.
The match saw a lot of physical play from both sides, and it became apparent the Gunners were letting Chelsea forward Diego Costa get under their skin. The Blues took advantage, scoring their first goal while a man up and securing all three points with a second tally while two men up.
Cazorla's tackle on Fabregas highlighted the frustration that mounted throughout the match. Though the midfielder hasn't been able to showcase top form during the early stages of the campaign, he's still been a stabilizing force in the midfield, as Squawka Football highlighted before the fixture:
While Dean failed to take control of the match in the first half, Arsenal did a poor job of controlling their emotions in the high-profile matchup. It cost them three points and leaves them without two key players for the match against Spurs.
The only silver lining is that Cazorla may have been rested for the League Cup match anyway, so the suspension shouldn't sting too much. Arsenal can only hope the ban provides a wake-up call and the midfielder returns motivated and in better form.
