Despite the loss, Neville's high-flying antics were in full force, per WWE Universe:
The Man That Gravity Forgot and the former Cody Rhodes have had issues with each other for the past few months. That led to a tag team match, pitting Neville and actor Stephen Amell against Stardust and King Barrett at SummerSlam, with the combination of the Red Arrow and Green Arrow ultimately coming out on top.
That embarrassing defeat angered Stardust and furthered his will to take down Neville. In order to do so, he enlisted the help of The Ascension. With Konnor and Viktor by his side, The Prince of Dark Matter seemed to have the upper hand against his English rival.
Viktor made The Cosmic Wasteland's intentions clear on Twitter:
Since Neville was well-aware that the odds were suddenly stacked against him, he brought in some support of his own in the form of Kalisto and Sin Cara.
With the former NXT tag team champions in his corner, the longest-reigning NXT champion of all time was more than ready to take on Stardust and his followers:
Neville and The Lucha Dragons fell short despite the fact that their skills seemed to mesh effectively, but the focus now shifts toward what comes next for them as well as their opponents.
The tag team division seems to be on the rise thanks to the arrival of The Dudley Boyz, and while both The Lucha Dragons and The Ascension would undoubtedly love to be key players, they are currently blocked by the aforementioned Dudleys and The New Day.
The Lucha Dragons and The Ascension are arguably the two most successful tag teams in NXT history, but they are still trying to find their footing on the main roster.
As for Neville and Stardust, their feud has seemingly run its course, so it would be nice to see both Superstars move on to something fresh.
Neville deserves to be vying for titles such as the intercontinental and United States championships, while Stardust might benefit from going back to his Cody Rhodes persona.
Whatever the case may be, they have done about all they can against each other, and WWE would be wise to utilize them in new angles moving forward.
