Lionel Messi a Tough Assignment for Lucas Digne During Barca's Draw with Roma

While Barcelona's 1-1 draw with Roma on Wednesday night will be remembered for an altogether different piece of individual brilliance, Lionel Messi made his mark on the match with a few flashes of genius himself.

The Argentine guaranteed Roma's left-back Lucas Digne endured a stressful evening with a series of reminders about the talents of the four-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Messi was involved in Luis Suarez's opener without even touching the ball, drawing Digne out of position with an intelligent run to leave Ivan Rakitic wide open.

Almost as if to rub salt into the wound, Messi went back to check on the defender rather than celebrate Suarez's goal.

And later in the match he simply made the Frenchman vanish with a breathtaking piece of skill.
