Cristiano Ronaldo Is Man of Matchweek 1 of the UEFA Champions League

Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick and overall dominant display against Shakhtar Donetsk makes him Bleacher Report's man of the week after the first matches of the Champions League's group stages. 

Ronaldo hit three goals at the Bernabeu to bring his all-time leading goal tally in the competition to a staggering 80 goals. He remains three goals ahead of second-place Lionel Messi, who was held scoreless in Barcelona's 1-1 draw against Roma. 

Alessandro Florenzi's wondergoal for Roma put him in consideration for honours, along with a host of Chelsea players and Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon, but after Matchweek 1, it could only be the unstoppable Ronaldo.
