New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said Wednesday that if Donald Trump ends up as a nominee for president of the United States in 2016, the outspoken businessman could win.

Speaking to reporters, per Mike Petraglia of WEEI.com, Brady said a Trump presidential election win "would be great."

It is worth noting, as Petraglia did, that Brady is a friend of Trump, and the two have been known to golf together.

Brady's endorsement should provide more swagger for Trump, who is taking the stage Wednesday night in California along with his fellow Republican candidates for the second debate leading into the 2016 election.
