WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for September 16

The Doctor Chris MuellerSep 16, 2015

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT, where we take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.

WWE has a long time before the next TakeOver live special, so there is enough time to properly build intriguing storylines around the three championships and non-title feuds.

The landscape of NXT has changed drastically over the past few months. Several wrestlers have moved to the main roster, a few injuries have sidelined some popular talents and some big names from other promotions have signed with the developmental brand.

NXT never fails to deliver great entertainment, excellent wrestling and, often times, more fun than the main roster. Let's take a look at what's in store for this week's show.

The Men

Two singles matches are scheduled to take place this week. The first will see Tye Dillinger face an enhancement talent.

Dillinger recently debuted his new Perfect 10 gimmick, and it looks like he is in line for a push. This kid has a lot of talent, but this will be the first time since signing with the company that he isn't used to put others over.

Even if he is going up against a jobber, this is an important bout for Dillinger. He has to prove to management he is worth the risk and time that go into making a successful Superstar.

The second match set for Wednesday will feature Apollo Crews in a bout against Solomon Crowe. Crews is still new to the scene, but this will almost certainly end up an easy win to keep his momentum going.

It's too bad Crowe hasn't been given a proper push because he is a unique talent. His look and style are completely different from that of everyone else, and while that can often be a good thing, it might be his downfall, too.

Crews impressed a lot of people with his debut win over Dillinger, but this is the crowd at Full Sail University. The fans in Florida can be more vocal than most. Hopefully the crowd gives him the same warm welcome he received in Brooklyn.

The Tag Teams

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic continues this week when old rivals Rhyno and Baron Corbin team up to take on Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano.

This is an interesting group of men because they represent very different kinds of wrestlers. Rhyno is the veteran, Ciampa and Gargano are the indy darlings and Corbin is the homegrown talent.

Whichever team gets the win will move on to the semifinal round, so even a win here doesn't guarantee a spot in the finals at the next TakeOver live special.

Ciampa and Gargano are well known among indy fans, but the WWE Universe is just getting to know them. This is an important match because the casual fans are still developing opinions of them.

Putting aside the tournament, beating Rhyno and Corbin would help Ciampa and Gargano gain a lot of momentum as they start on their path to the main roster.

The Women

Bayley will make her first appearance following her Women's Championship win at TakeOver: Brooklyn when she takes on Sarah Dobson, known to fans of the indy scene as Crazy Mary Dobson.

While this woman is not as well known as Blue Pants or Kanna, she is no joke. Her specialty in the business is Death matches, so she is more than willing to take risks for the sake of entertaining the fans.

This might be a one-time appearance for Dobson, but if she gets a good enough reaction from the fans at Full Sail University, it may lead to her getting more bookings like Leva Bates has been able to do.

This match will be the night's main event, so Dobson and Bayley will probably be given enough time to work in order to make this a great contest.

Sasha Banks is scheduled to appear for a promo, so it's likely she will confront Bayley to demand a rematch for the Women's Championship.

On paper, this looks like a pretty good episode of NXT. What are you looking forward to seeing the most on this week's show?
