Buccaneers' Jackson Records 500th Career Reception in Loss
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson recorded the 500th reception of his career during Sunday's 19-9 loss to the Houston Texans, becoming the 14th active player to reach the milestone, per Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times.
Off to a slow start this season, the 32-year-old Jackson entered Sunday's game with 499 career catches, needing just one more to get halfway to 1,000.
He got the milestone out of the way on Tampa Bay's first drive, catching a 19-yard pass from rookie quarterback Jameis Winston.

However, Jackson was quiet for the rest of the afternoon, ultimately finishing with just two catches for 40 yards on four targets, leaving him at 501 career receptions for 8,509 yards and 55 touchdowns.
Coming off four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, Jackson has just nine catches for 145 yards and a touchdown through three games, putting him on pace to finish with 48 receptions for 773 yards and five scores.
Although he'll likely rebound to some extent, Jackson is in serious danger of missing the 1,000-yard mark for the first time since his holdout-shortened 2010 campaign, as he now plays second fiddle to second-year wide receiver Mike Evans in the Tampa Bay offense.
Evans missed Week 1 with a hamstring injury and remained limited in Week 2, but he caught seven passes for 101 yards on 17 targets in Sunday's loss to Houston.
