Shoulder the Prominent Problem for Bradford

Tuesday, Nov. 24

Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer indicated this is Bradford's third concussion and he suffered memory loss. He also said Bradford's bigger issue is his shoulder, though he will not need surgery.

Bradford Risk Not Paying Off for Eagles

Bradford is no stranger to injuries, of course. The 28-year-old quarterback has missed extended time throughout his college and pro career due to serious ailments involving both his right shoulder and left knee.

The biggest chance the Eagles took during the offseason wasn't related to his on-field performance. Instead, they were hoping he could stay healthy enough to lead the fast-paced offense effectively, something he flashed in the early going.

Mark Sanchez has taken the reins on offense in Bradford's absence. He played reasonably well when given the chance last season, finishing with 14 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and an 88.4 passer rating over his nine-game stint, but he's nothing more than a replacement-level alternative under center for Philadelphia. Thad Lewis is the team's third-string quarterback.

Bradford remains the signal-caller with the most upside for the Eagles, but unfortunately, injuries continue to play a major role in his career so far.
