Toon Works Out for Titans

Wednesday, Sept. 23

Adam Caplan of ESPN provided word of Toon's visit to Tennessee. The Titans currently lack depth at wide receiver, with Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter, Harry Douglas and rookie Dorial Green-Beckham the only players at the position.

Cowboys Bring Toon in for Workout After Bryant's Injury

Tuesday, Sept. 15

Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports reported the Cowboys were still interested in signing Toon after his workout. However, the team later traded for Oakland wideout Brice Butler, so it remains to be seen how much interest is still there.

Analyzing What Toon Provides to Prospective Teams

Toon appeared in 16 games over the past two seasons with the Saints after getting drafted in the fourth round in 2012. He missed his entire rookie campaign due to injury and failed to establish himself with the Saints once healthy, making just 21 catches and scoring a single touchdown.

New Orleans placed him on injured reserve after the preseason due to the ankle issue, but it later waived him after reaching an injury settlement.

The fact he's working out for teams suggests his health has improved, which is good news for receiver-needy teams.

Toon features good size (6'4''), but he lacks speed and could never carve out a niche red-zone role for himself with the Saints.
