Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Panik Placed on 60-Day DL
Wednesday, Sept. 16
Mac Williamson has been called up to take Panik's roster spot, per Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area, who also reported Panik's placement on the 60-day disabled list.
This isn't much of a surprise after the 24-year-old received an MRI on Monday, with manager Bruce Bochy believing his season would be over, per Pavlovic.
There's no question San Francisco will miss Panik in the lineup. His .312 batting average and .378 on-base percentage are both second on the team, while his 4.1 WAR would be third among MLB second basemen if he had the at-bats to qualify, per FanGraphs.
Now Panik will have to watch from the bench as his team fights for its playoff life.
