US Open Tennis 2015 Weather: Rain-Delay Updates Surrounding Men's Final
The U.S. Open 2015 final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer has been delayed because of rain in New York City.
The tournament's official Twitter feed provided updates on the potential state of play:
"The forecast calls for intermittent showers followed by clearing for the evening. Once the rain stops, we will dry the courts & begin play.

Live Tennis provided an update of when the action was expected to finally start:
"OK! Looks like players will be heading out to the court in about 10 minutes! Get excited! pic.twitter.com/jCMIa3GTTh

The top two men's seeds left in the competition will be hugely frustrated as they wait for the inclement weather at Flushing Meadows to pass.
The lack of a roof at Arthur Ashe Stadium makes the final susceptible to weather changes; however, a project to rectify this should be completed in 2016, making rain stoppages a thing of the past.

The game is expected to resume on Sunday, with forecasts suggesting the match should have plenty of time to be played until completion.
Djokovic has only won one U.S. Open in his career from his 12 Grand Slam titles, but he is the slight favorite to beat the aging Federer, who has played some of his most inspirational tennis during the current competition.
