FIFA 16: Elite Player Ratings, Release Date and New Star Face Scans

Brian MaziqueSep 14, 2015

On Tuesday, September 22, FIFA 16 will release for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. The uber-popular series is putting a distinct emphasis on players' cosmetic differences and their varied skill sets.

From a visual standpoint, EASports.com says that there are over 350 new scanned star heads. It's a part of the game's initiative dedicated to bringing gamers new-world authenticity. One look at the star heads from players like Real Madrid's Gareth Bale shows the game is still accurately rendering players.

There's not a major jump from FIFA 15 to FIFA 16 from a visual standpoint. That may not ultimately be a major drawback, as the game looked good last year.

Here's a look at some of the updated face scans for Real Madrid's Gareth Bale and Chelsea's Eden Hazard:

Elite Player Ratings

Lionel Messi, 94, FC Barcelona

The cover athlete is the top dog in the FIFA universe. He has many outstanding skills, but chief among them is his dribbling ability. Messi is a maestro with the ball, and he has been awarded with a 94 dribble rating.

There's no player in the game who is more dangerous than Messi in the penalty area.

Cristiano Ronaldo, 93, Real Madrid

When it comes to crosses and shot power, Ronaldo is among the very best. His shooting rating is a 93. Those are his best ratings, but the Real Madrid star is a man of many talents. He's still a point behind Messi, but it's not a difference you're likely to detect when controlling him.

Luis Suarez, 90, FC Barcelona

In case you're wondering if there's a bite rating, there isn't. If there was, Luis Suarez would probably have a 99 in that category. As it is, his 88 rating in dribbling and shooting makes him a dangerous teammate for Messi and Neymar Jr.

If Barcelona gets the ball close to the striking area, they have as many dynamic options as anyone.
