Shane Ray Tweets Support of Aldon Smith, Throws Shade at Oakland Raiders

Katie RichcreekSep 11, 2015

Denver Broncos linebacker Shane Ray is glad Aldon Smith is getting a chance with the Oakland Raiders after signing a one-year deal on Friday, according to Bleacher Report's Jason Cole, but he isn't exactly the biggest fan of Smith's new team.

Cue the Twitter shade.

Smith was released by the San Francisco 49ers in August after being arrested on multiple charges, including driving under the influence.

He and Ray might not have ever been division opponents, however, if it weren't for the rookie's own run-in with the law.

The former Missouri Tiger was cited for possession of marijuana just days before the 2015 draft, ultimately affecting his draft stock as he fell to 23rd overall.

It could very well also be that Ray, a Kansas City native, likely grew up a Kansas City Chiefs fan—thus another reason to shamelessly throw shade at Oakland.
