Internet Reaction to David De Gea's Manchester United Contract Extension

David De Gea's on-again, off-again move to Real Madrid took another turn on Friday, when the Spanish goalkeeper signed a new deal with Manchester United.

After De Gea seemed destined for a move to the Madrid giants this summer, the transfer collapsed at the last minute on deadline day. 

Friday's news far from guarantees that De Gea will stay at Old Trafford beyond next summer, however, with many comparing the deal to Luis Suarez's contract extension with Liverpool in 2013.

But either way, United fans are delighted by the news, which means they will either keep their superstar goalkeeper or attract a handsome fee for him next offseason.

That's no surprise, given that De Gea has fast become a fan favourite at Old Trafford and emerged as one of the world's premier shot-stoppers.

While the possibility for De Gea to move on next summer was not lost on some fans.
