WWE Night of Champions 2015: Overlooked Stars Who Will Make Big Impact at PPV

Donald WoodSep 11, 2015

The excitement for the 2015 edition of WWE’s Night of Champions pay-per-view is growing each day, but there are several Superstars not being talked about who will make a huge impact on the show.

With few fans talking about Dean Ambrose, Luke Harper, Kevin Owens or several other overlooked stars, there is a high potential for shocking outcomes and genuinely entertaining midcard matches.

Here are the wrestlers who will make an impact at Night of Champions.

Kevin Owens

As seen on SmackDown this week when Owens grabbed the feet of Ryback to cost him the victory in his match against Seth Rollins, the battle between the former NXT champion and the intercontinental champion will almost certainly take place at the September PPV.

Since earning a clean pinfall victory over John Cena, Owens has been marred in the midcard without a storyline worthy of his stature. As great as Cesaro is, Owens deserves to be fighting for championship gold, and it’s about time he won another title.

Ryback has been solid as the IC champion, but he has been handed absolutely nothing to work with in terms of storylines. The hope is that Ryback is given the chance to shine in a marquee battle against a star in the making such as Owens.

With Owens being the red-hot heel in the company and one of the best in the business, the former NXT champion should return to prominence by winning the Intercontinental Championship from Ryback at Night of Champions.

Rusev and Dolph Ziggler

Whether you love the storyline involving Rusev and his girlfriend Summer Rae feuding against Dolph Ziggler and Lana or hate it, there is no doubt that the singles match between Ziggler and Rusev will be excellent.

Don’t let the TMZ-style storytelling fool you.

Before being buried by John Cena and turning into a comedic character, Rusev was one of the most imposing forces in WWE. He has freakish athleticism for a man his size, and his combination of ring awareness and storytelling ability make him a unique talent.

On the other hand, Ziggler has always been known as one of the best technical wrestlers in the company, and he will have the chance to prove it once again against Rusev. With two men looking to shine despite being forgotten in the midcard, the result will be a stellar match that is being completely overlooked.

Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper

While everyone is talking about the storied rivalry between Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt, the addition of Braun Strowman or who the third man will be for the face team, everyone is overlooking Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper.

Ambrose and Harper are two of the most talented workers in the WWE today, and in the six-man match at Night of Champions, it will once again be the responsibility of the forgotten stars from each team to carry the majority of the in-ring workload.

The focus will inevitably be on Strowman and how he performs at his first PPV or who the third man will be teaming with Ambrose and Reigns, but true wrestling fans know the real MVPs of the multi-man match will be Ambrose and Harper.
