It was just too much Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady for the Pittsburgh Steelers to overcome. Steeler quarterback Ben Roethlisberger tried to bring them back against the New England Patriots, but ran out of time. The Steelers defense struggled mightily, and fell to the Patriots 28-21.
Brady finished with 288 yards passing and four touchdowns, three of which went to Gronkowski. On the other side, Roethlisberger had 351 yards passing and a touchdown, but a late interception on an awful underthrow might have been the nail in the coffin. Pittsburgh's defense looked lost at times, and the Patriots capitalized to start the season 1-0.
