Former Mexico Star Cuauhtemoc Blanco Used Wikipedia Page to Run for Mayor

A former forward for the Mexico national team copied and pasted his Wikipedia page and used it as a CV when running for mayor of the Mexican town of Cuernavaca—and won.

Former Real Valladolid and Chicago Fire forward Cuauhtemoc Blanco won the election in June and starts his new role in January.

According to sports website Medio Tiempo (link in Spanish), the profile includes no relevant work experience and instead focuses on career achievements, including the 39 goals he scored for the Mexican national team.
