Arian Foster Speaks on Receiving Counseling for Off-Field Issues
Arian Foster was once too proud to admit he needed help. Now the Houston Texans running back admits receiving counseling for off-the-field issues has made him the happiest he's ever been in his life.
"I thought I was too cool to get counseling. I thought I was above that," Foster said Thursday, per TMZ Sports. "The only reason I'm talking about it now is because I know a lot of people out there now feel like I used to to feel."
Foster, who is currently on the shelf with a groin injury, did not specify what personal problems he discussed. However, TMZ previously reported that his wife filed for divorce earlier this year after the former Pro Bowler had a child with another woman.

"I've been through some of the most tough times personally this last year but emotionally I'm probably the happiest I've ever been in my life," Foster said.
As for his life on the field, Foster remains positive in that regard as well. Despite the fact that there is currently no firm timetable for his return, he said Thursday he has no doubt he'll return to form—or perhaps even better—once he gets back on the field.
"I think this is going to be my best year and I still feel like it will be," Foster said, per Dan Hanzus of NFL.com. "It's going to be tough because I'm going to have some ground to make up, but I was feeling the best, feeling the quickest that I felt. You can judge for yourself."
Foster rushed for 1,246 yards and eight touchdowns last season. It was the fourth time in the last five years he's topped the 1,000-yard plateau. Now that he’s sorted out some personal issues, it'll be interesting to see if Foster can back up his confidence on the gridiron.
