Natalya, Mark Henry, Jimmy Snuka and More from the Vintage Mailbag

Then WWE Diva's Revolution continues to lumber about WWE programming. Hopefully a good match between Charlotte and Nikki Bella, and a possible heel turn from Paige, next week on Raw will add a much-needed jolt.

You know who else could add a jolt to the division? Natalya, who continues to be conspicuous by her absence during a potential boom period for women in wrestling.

Natty by Nurture?

"

@ThisIsNasty@NatbyNature is one of the most technically gifted, marketable divas, given heritage, why is @WWE reluctant to utilise her?

— Joe Travis September 5, 2015"

Natalya was asked a similar question on the Sam Roberts Podcast recently (h/t WrestlingInc.com). Her response? "To be honest, I don't know why I'm not included in this. I don't have an answer. I really don't. And your guess is as good as mine."

I second that notion. I do not know why Natalya isn't being used during WWE's current push for women's wrestling. Natalya is quite possibly the best worker on the entire Divas roster. Her match against Charlotte at NXT Takeover last year was the WWE match of the year, period.

In hindsight, this is probably a good thing given how messy the Divas Revolution has been to this point. Natalya shouldn't want anything to do with this.

Looking back, Natalya could have worked with the newer Divas on a one-on-one basis, thus adding credibility. This would be more effective than grouping them together like they're in summer camp. Hopefully, once WWE figures out the kinks, Natalya will emerge as a contender for the Divas Championship to make things more competitive and interesting.

Superfly Scandal

"

@ThisisNasty what do you think about Snuka for being charged with muder in a 1983 case

— Laura Jean Rock (@Rocks56) September 4, 2015

"

As I mentioned in the PodNasty Wrestling Podcast, this is just another blow to WWE's '80s era, often looked upon fondly as the first golden age of wrestling.

Between Hogan's racial scandal, the untimely deaths of many '80s wrestlers and now Snuka's reopened murder trial, the past few years have not been kind to the Rock n' Wrestling Era. Once revered as a fun-loving time in entertainment, it will be difficult to watch a lot of vintage WWE matches without some sort of dark cloud hanging over them.

There was always a lot of mystery surrounding the events that led to the death of Snuka's girlfriend in 1983. Now that the case has been reopened against a now-72-year-old Snuka, a strange, sad story is becoming even more surreal.

Seth Rollins: Better than Triple H?

"

@ThisIsNasty is it possible that Seth Rollins gets 2 clean wins in 1 night to proclaim he's better than HHH to push that feud?

— Unavailable (@Aarhead_) September 4, 2015

"

If Rollins won two clean matches at WWE Night of Champions against John Cena and Sting, it would be nearly impossible to book him as a heel moving forward.

The idea of Rollins having to wrestle twice in one night is already fitting for a valiant babyface since he is once again having the deck stacked against him by The Authority. Rollins' current plight sounds awfully similar to the Daniel Bryan story at WrestleMania XXX.

I would be surprised if Rollins won one of his matches clean, if not both. I fully expect him to lose at least one match, likely to John Cena, before being involved in a shady finish against Sting. WWE rarely books Rollins to win clean in any match, it's difficult to imagine him doing so twice in one night against two living legends.

Rollins doesn't need to defeat both Cena and Sting to proclaim superiority to Triple H. Rollins' current feud against Sting is being portrayed as the unofficial Triple H Bowl. Should he escape that match with a victory, this would help further the tension between the two.

Hall of Pain: Midcard Wing?

"

@ThisIsNasty should Mark Henry get one more run with the midcard championship?

— RaheemMansaray(@johnnymansaray) September 3, 2015

"

Mark Henry recently told Alshaar Khan of the Times of India that he was considering retirement following WrestleMania 32. Despite being WWE's longest-tenured employee, Henry still has a lot left in the tank and can add value to a midcard championship if he was put in that position.

Every time WWE takes Henry seriously, he shines. Even when he's given questionable material to work with, he makes the best out of it while somehow maintaining his credibility.

I wouldn't mind seeing one last Hall of Pain run for the Intercontinental or United States Championship. John Cena's run with the United States Championship proved that a top star with a midcard title and a pool of worthy contenders can make any championship meaningful.

As serious as Ryback is about being Intercontinental champion, having a tenured talent like Henry covet that title could do that belt wonders.

Black Sheep or White Sheep?

"

@ThisIsNasty We all know you don't like the Shield's reminders/quasi-reunions. How about the Wyatt's? And should Rowan join when he returns?

— V (@MrVDawg) September 3, 2015

"

The Wyatt Family never really broke up as much as Bray Wyatt set them free. So when Luke Harper rejoined Wyatt, it made sense. WWE did not bash fans over the head with references to the Wyatt Family nearly as much as they do with The Shield.

Once Bray went solo there was very little talk of his relationship with his former family members. Now that the Wyatt Family is back together, Braun Strowman will prove to be an upgrade as a third member.

Three's a crowd in the Wyatt Family, and I don think there's any room for Erik Rowan upon his return. In fact, I think it's more likely Rowan joins Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns than the Wyatts.
