After 10 weeks on the treatment table, the 23-year-old's recovery is progressing so quickly he's already back in training, according to the Daily Star's Colin Harvey.
Begovic Failing to Deliver in Courtois' Absence
Last season's Premier League champions are languishing in the bottom half of the table. Their biggest problem is that they've been conceding goals at an alarming rate, and that issue has been amplified by a leaky defence.
Most of those goals have come with Courtois' stand-in, Asmir Begovic, between the sticks.
Begovic, a Bosnia and Herzegovina international, seemed like a superb deputy for Courtois, but the former Stoke City man has struggled behind an ageing and increasingly ineffective back four.
He is capable, but when it comes to operating for a big club, he's proved he's no Courtois.
The Chelsea first-choice goalkeeper is a remarkable presence between the sticks. Not only does the Belgian pull off some stunning saves, but his distribution is excellent, his command of the area is Gianluigi Buffon-esque and his temperament for dealing with big matches is remarkable for such a young goalkeeper.
A world-class stopper can so often be decisive in the pursuit of major honours, and Courtois is a player worthy of that status. Needless to say, plenty at Stamford Bridge will be crossing their fingers in the hope he can maintain fitness upon his return.
