WWE NXT Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from September 9
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic continued Wednesday night as NXT hit the WWE Network airwaves with two huge first-round matches.
NXT champion Finn Balor and Samoa Joe were impressive in their victory over The Lucha Dragons, but it was another team that emerged from this week's broadcast as the biggest winner of the night.
Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano made their in-ring debut for the brand and wasted no time in establishing themselves as a threat to the rest of the tournament field, upsetting Bull Dempsey and Tyler Breeze to advance to the next round.

Of course, they did so following miscommunication between their opposition, but that does not change the fact that, despite not being official members of the roster, they earned a huge victory.
The indy standouts would make fine additions to a roster that is already loaded with talent. Whether they get that opportunity is the question.
Which other NXT Superstars and Divas joined Ciampa and Gargano as winners? Who found themselves on the other end of the spectrum?
Find out now with this week's look at the biggest winners and losers from NXT.
Winner: Dana Brooke
While she may still be a bit green, it is clear that NXT is grooming Dana Brooke as the next contender to the NXT Women's Championship, currently held by Bayley. On Wednesday night, an impressive victory over Billie Kay put Brooke one step closer to her first championship opportunity.
She looked better and crisper than in previous outings. More importantly, she was booked like someone fans can believe is a legitimate threat to the new champion—something that was not the case when she was feuding with Charlotte.
A steady build that sees her consistently improve will help the fitness model gain acceptance with the fans, even if they refuse to like her. That would be a major step in the right direction, as was Wednesday night's victory.
Loser: Tyler Breeze
Prince Pretty is one of the unquestioned MVPs of NXT, but far too often, especially here in 2015, it has felt like he has been shoved aside in favor of guys such as Finn Balor, Hideo Itami, Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe. This has happened despite the fact that he has been in the brand for what feels like an eternity and has developed into one of the most consistent workers on the roster.
On Wednesday night, the seeds were planted for an extended feud between him and Bull Dempsey's new comedic persona. While that at least gives the Gorgeous One something to do rather than float aimlessly, it feels like Breeze is on a treadmill—he's neither advancing forward nor falling backward, just staying in the same spot.
At some point, management and Triple H are going to have to decide to promote Breeze to the main roster. Let him swim with the big fish. If he succeeds, fine. If not, it will be time to cut bait. But he deserves better than what he has now, especially given everything he has done for and in NXT.

Winner: Carmella
The Staten Island Princess had a rough summer, losing more than she won and watching as associates Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady fell out of NXT Tag Team Championship contention for reasons that still are unclear.
On Wednesday night, though, she began building momentum back up for herself, beating Peyton Royce in singles competition and looking much better than she has before.
While she's still a work in progress, Carmella has consistently improved, whereas fellow Diva Eva Marie still appears to be struggling, despite the training sessions with Brian Kendrick.
Carmella's triangle choke is a strong finisher and will benefit her going forward, but she should also add a more traditional finisher to her arsenal, one that can pop the crowd and give fans something that they can look forward to. It will benefit her, her performance and the heat surrounding her matches.
For now, she can celebrate a big win and move forward as every Diva in NXT jockeys for a future championship opportunity against Bayley.
