One youngster, however, tried to improve upon his special evening by making a beeline for the historic scorer at full-time in search of me
morabilia. Shortly after the whistle, a precocious young ballboy tried to reach the Manchester United striker, presumably to obtain the most wanted garment of the evening.
Sadly, the youngster was denied his chance of joining Charlie Morgan in the canon of legendary ballboys by a fast-thinking steward, who promptly whisked him away.
