According to Adam Skinner of Express, Liverpool's Joe Gomez has been forced to delete a tweet he sent out Tuesday night in congratulations of the new England goalscoring record holder, Wayne Rooney.
Rooney's Manchester United faces Liverpool this Saturday, and the England striker has previously played for local rivals Everton.
The tweet was sent out after Rooney's penalty against Switzerland at Wembley and deleted within a matter of seconds after attracting abuse from Liverpool fans.

But not all Liverpool fans echo the views of those who forced the congratulations to be withdrawn.
