WWE NXT: Full Preview, Match Card and More for September 9
Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of WWE NXT, where we take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is one of the bigger storylines in the developmental system at the moment. Because NXT only has so many teams, slots are being filled by unique combinations we might never see partner up otherwise.
WWE has been filming matches for the tournament during live events, so if anything about the arena appears different, that's why.

Let's take a look at everything scheduled to take place on this week's NXT.
The Women
Two women's matches are set for Wednesday's show. The first will see Carmella take on newcomer Peyton Royce.
The women's division lost a lot of talent when Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks were called up to the main roster, so it's important that new talents begin to establish themselves.
We know a lot about Carmella the valet, but we haven't seen very much of Carmella the wrestler. On the same note, we know nothing about Royce or her potential.
This bout will be a good indicator of whether or not one of these women will be able to fill the big shoes left by the recent main roster call-ups.
The second match will feature Dana Brooke battling another new talent, Billie Kay. Brooke seems like she has been singled out by management as a future star, but she has a long way to go before she is ready to be women's champion.
She needs more time to improve and connect with the crowd, and putting her in matches with people such as Kay is going to help her do that.
Kay, like Royce, is someone who didn't come into WWE with a lot of hype. She is going to have to work her way up by taking losses, and that is likely what will happen when she faces Brooke.
It's going to be interesting to watch how the division fares without a lot of its big names. Hopefully, some of these future Divas can fill the void.
The Tag Teams
Two more matches in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will air Wednesday. The first will see the odd pairing of Bull Dempsey and Tyler Breeze take on indy darlings Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.
It will be fun to see Gargano and Ciampa for anyone who has followed their careers, but it will be just as interesting to see the dynamic between Dempsey and Breeze.
The second tag match will likely be the main event of the evening. Finn Balor and Samoa Joe will team up to take on former NXT tag team champions The Lucha Dragons.
It's anyone's guess as to which team the fans get behind during this bout. Both teams are babyfaces and quite popular with the NXT audience, so it could go either way.
Both of these matches will determine who moves on in the tournament. Depending on how officials arrange the brackets, the winners may even end up facing each other in the next round.
The Men
Here is where things get tricky. NXT taped a match between Neville and Kevin Owens, but it's possible this was a dark match that was only meant to be seen by those in attendance.
If this does end up airing, it will definitely steal the show. These two have waged war against each other before, and they always put on a good performance.
Regardless of whether or not we see Owens vs. Neville, we are in for a good show. A lot of new talent will be on display, and some interesting tag teams will compete to honor the late Dusty Rhodes.
What are you looking forward to on this week's episode of NXT?
