WWE Rumors: Examining Latest Buzz Around Bo Dallas, Eva Marie and More

Ryan DilbertSep 8, 2015

In the near future, WWE fans may see Bo Dallas undergo a character makeover and Eva Marie hold up NXT gold.

These rumors are proof that for every good idea the company has, there's a bad one to accompany it. Dallas could certainly use at least a tweak of his gimmick after his run on the main roster has stalled for the most part. Trying to address that with a new approach is smart.

The same cannot be said for what WWE reportedly has in mind for Eva. Officials are rumored to be mulling over plans to elevate her to a spot on the card which fans aren't likely to be happy about.

Other stories feature a second chance for WWE Tough Enough's Amanda Saccamanno and company officials' thoughts on wrestlers illegally streaming pay-per-view events.

A New Role Coming for Bo Dallas?

Dallas hasn't been a factor on WWE programming since he was NXT champ. After months of spinning his wheels, WWE may be looking to offer him a rope to pull himself up.

Bryan Alvarez noted on F4WOnline (h/t Wrestling Inc) that Dallas is reportedly in line for a gimmick change.

It's not clear whether WWE would want to completely repackage him and transform him as dramatically as Husky Harris morphed into Bray Wyatt, or if he's simply going to get more of a tuneup for his character. Either way, it makes perfect sense that officials would be thinking this way.

Dallas' persona, as currently constructed, isn't likely to catch fire. WWE might as well see if it can get fans to buy into him somehow.

Fans saw a slightly different Dallas already.

On last week's SmackDown, he was more aggressive and more serious as he attacked R-Truth. This may be a precursor to continued change for him.

Amanda's Journey Not Yet Over

Although Sara Lee ended up winning WWE Tough Enough, the woman she beat out may work her way into WWE anyway. Amanda, a finalist on the recent reality show, is rumored to be working out with the rest of the company's prospects.

PWInsider's Mike Johnston reported, "We are told the company is bringing her in and she's been training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando."

This wouldn't be the first time that WWE had interest in a Tough Enough contestant who didn't come out on top. Ryback, Cameron and The Miz all fit in that category.

Amanda was the better prospect between her and Sara anyway. She had a better grasp of showmanship by the end of the show. WWE seemingly recognizes that and so is potentially prepping her for a spot on the roster as well.

Backstage Reaction to Illegal Stream Tweet

A wrestler wanted to watch UFC 191 but didn't want to pay for it. His solution was to use social media to find an illegal stream of the pay-per-view.

WWE reportedly noticed and wasn't happy about it.

Dave Melzer wrote the following on F4WOnline's Monday update

"

If you are an independent wrestler and want to work for WWE, someone in the company noted please do not publicly post something asking to view an illegal stream of anything. Apparently there was a very negative reaction internally to a wrestler publicly asking for a link to an illegal stream of Saturday's UFC show. It's not that it's UFC, but WWE is in the same business and feels that talent should be smart enough not to publicly ask for a link for an illegal stream because that's a subject that hurts WWE business as well.

"

Add that to the list of rules to live by for wrestlers on the independent circuit. The business is changing thanks to social media and the pitfalls that come with it. This may have seemed like a small deal to whoever posted the stream request, but clearly it's not to the biggest company in the industry.

Rumored Plans for Eva Marie

If you are a fan of NXT and one of many who can't stand Eva Marie, prepare to be conflicted. It appears that her stay at NXT is not just a brief one and that she may be usurping Bayley as NXT women's champ.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc), Bayley's next rivals are set to be Dana Brooke and Eva. Reportedly, WWE officials want to eventually have Eva become champion, with the story that she is proving her critics wrong through her hard work.

At the beginning of her career, WWE made the mistake of putting her in the ring too soon.

She has since had an unpopularity hole to dig herself out of, and putting the NXT women's title on her won't help her do that.

That has so far been a belt reserved for the new wave of talented, trailblazing women like Charlotte, Paige and Sasha Banks. In spite of how hard she was worked lately, Eva still represents something else entirely. She's more model than mat worker in many eyes.

WWE better be ready for a heavy dose of booing, regardless of whether Eva is supposed to be a babyface or heel.
