This comes after a pair of recent notable disturbances in which fans overstepped their boundaries to become part of the action. First, a fan threw a replica Money in the Bank briefcase at Roman Reigns earlier in the summer. Then, WWE security intercepted a fan before he could reach Dean Ambrose during a SmackDown taping in August.
Maybe this is all a ruse—like when a fan "interrupted" Raw a few years ago and was chased backstage by security—but it didn't look fake Monday night. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com highlighted the all-too-real threat the fan posed as he reached the world heavyweight champion:
It's impossible to have an eye on 10,000 fans during Raw or SmackDown, but WWE needs to do something to prevent a similar situation from occurring in the future.
