IK Enemkpali to Bills: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction

Joseph ZuckerSep 7, 2015

Although IK Enemkpali was unable to make the cut with the Bills the first time around, the linebacker will get another shot.  The team announced Enemkpali will join its practice squad for the 2015 season on Sept. 7, and also announced on Sept. 11 that he's been added to the active roster.

According to Rapoport, Enemkpali had interest from teams beyond just the Bills, but Buffalo was his top destination.

Most fans will remember Enemkpali as the man who punched Geno Smith in August, breaking Smith's jaw in two places. ESPN.com's Rich Cimini reported on Monday the New York Jets quarterback won't press charges against Enemkpali for the fight.

After getting released by the Jets, Enemkpali quickly landed with the Bills, for whom he appeared in three preseason games, making six tackles and assisting on two more. Kimberley A. Martin of Newsday reported earlier in the month that his preseason performance was just one reason he failed to earn a roster spot:

Now, Enemkpali will get another chance to prove to Rex Ryan and the Bills he's worth keeping in the long-term.
