US Open Tennis 2015: Predicting Score, Results for Monday's Brackets
The 2015 U.S. Open is finally getting down to business. On the heels of an opening week filled with upsets and favorites taking care of stiff tests, the draw has turned brutal entering Monday with only top contenders remaining.
The favorites left standing are household names, with the likes of Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka and more notables taking to the courts Monday in the hopes of punching their quarterfinal tickets. Not lost among the chaos are a couple of head-turners, such as unseeded Americans Donald Young and Victoria Lepchenko, both of whom aim to notch another big upset to keep rolling.

No. 2 Simona Halep vs. No. 24 Sabine Lisicki

There's been no early exit for second-seeded Simona Halep in Queens, unlike her last two Grand Slam stops, which saw her win just one match combined at both the French Open and Wimbledon. But before she truly sends a message to Serena Williams, she'll have to navigate past a tricky Round 4 foe.
Halep is going up against 24th-seeded German Sabine Lisicki, who, despite her status as an emerging contender, has already broken through to a Wimbledon final (2013) and into the second week of three other majors. The 25-year-old has only beaten Halep once in four meetings but took her to three long sets in two of the last three meetings.
Lisicki has needed one three-set match on her way to this point, but the same can't be said for Halep, who truly dominated her last opponent, as ESPN Stats & Info showed:
A return to Flushing Meadows this September could have caused trouble for Halep, who bowed out in the third round last year after making the quarters in each of the year's previous three majors. She's never made it past Round 4 at the U.S. Open, a hurdle she'll be intent to jump Monday afternoon.
While not on the same plane as Williams, the 23-year-old Romanian is the game's consensus No. 2 player for a reason. If she doesn't get in her own way, there may be only one fellow female capable of taking her down—and her name isn't Sabine Lisicki.
Expect Lisicki to make things tough on Halep, just like in previous meetings, while not deterring the inevitable outcome.
No. 6 Tomas Berdych vs. No. 12 Richard Gasquet

Top-10 matchups don't typically produce themselves before the quarterfinal round. While this may not officially be one on paper, the quality of play between Tomas Berdych and Richard Gasquet should be nothing short of elite.
The two will be meeting for the 13th time in their careers Monday in Flushing Meadows, and it couldn't be any more level between them in those previous meetings. Berdych and Gasquet have split right down the middle, winning six apiece.
Despite that, only one meeting came in a Grand Slam setting—a straight-sets win for Berdych. The same can be said of the last three meetings, all of which Berdych has won in straight sets.
Both players are capable of catching fire and making shots that the other can't do anything about, but it's no secret who's had the upper hand as of late. In meetings since the start of 2013, Berdych is 4-2.
