WWE Night of Champions 2015: Undercard Matches Fans Deserve to See

Aaron BowerSep 7, 2015

After a mixed bag at SummerSlam, WWE needs to ensure the hype and interest in the midcard matches surrounding Night of Champions' main event involving Sting and Seth Rollins.

The fact that Rollins is pulling double duty on the night means that the middle of the card should be a stronger to a certain degree, but there are plenty of other matches which fans deserve to see on the night itself.

With the tag team division thriving again and a potential Divas Championship match on the cards, here are the bouts fans deserve to see on the undercard.

The New Day vs. The Dudley Boyz

A few months ago, pinning down a match in the tag division as one fans truly deserved to see would have been unthinkable.

But since The New Day turned heel and became one of the most popular stables in WWE, the fortunes of the division have begun to turn.

Despite working as a heel group, its hilarious antics have seen the team get plenty of popularity.

And as if that wasn't good enough, WWE rolled the dice the night after SummerSlam and brought back one of the greatest tag teams of all time, The Dudley Boyz. Unsurprisingly, it's been a move that has already paid off.

The New Day has reacted to their arrival well and cut a brilliant promo on Raw last week about trying to protect furniture given the Dudleys' love of tables, and there's plenty of enjoyment surrounding the storyline.

If the bout is half as good as their chemistry developed so far, we're in for a treat.

Nikki Bella vs. Charlotte

Finally, WWE fans will get to see Nikki Bella put her Divas Championship on the line against one of the fresh talents that stepped up from NXT.

Charlotte and Sasha Banks have perhaps been the two most impressive of the trio so far, so it's no surprise that Ric Flair's daughter gets a shot at Nikki at Night of Champions.

So why do fans deserve to see it? Well, first and foremost, they deserve to see the championship defended.

WWE is clearly making a big deal out of the fact that Nikki is set to become the longest-reigning Divas champion of all time in a few days' time, so when that deadline passes, expect Nikki to drop the title fairly quickly.

Fans deserve to see a fresh impetus placed on the championship after a confusing few weeks with little storyline development in what was initially an exciting angle.

Hopefully, with this match pitting two stars one-on-one and placing the focus on just those two, this bout gets the Divas revolution up and running again.

Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and TBA vs. The Wyatt Family

Quite who the third man on Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose's team at Night of Champions will be is up in the air at the moment, but that doesn't detract from the intrigue and hype surrounding this bout.

Fans will definitely be looking forward to seeing The Wyatt Family on pay-per-view with a fresh dynamic after the arrival of Braun Stowman, and he will certainly bring something completely different to the family moving forward.

Fans will want to see an improved showing from all the participants involved after a pretty average bout at SummerSlam, but with fresh blood thrown in, that shouldn't be an issue.

The mystery surrounding who the third member is going to be is making fans automatically interested in the fight, as right now, there seem to be a few candidates to pick from.

But with so much star power with Wyatt, Reigns and Ambrose all involved, what we're guaranteed is a match that fans definitely deserve to see.
