Kelcie McCray to Seahawks: Latest Trade Details, Comments and Reaction
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs traded safety Kelcie McCray to the Seattle Seahawks for a fifth-round draft pick Saturday evening.
Seattle's move to acquire another safety was vital for its depth. The Seahawks needed another body in their secondary as star safety Kam Chancellor continues to hold out for a new contract.
McCray's arrival might prove to be a rescuing transaction, especially after CBSSports.com's Jason La Canforna's report on Chancellor:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Seattle is sending a message to their star with this move, according to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports 1:
Seahawks fans can't expect a Chancellor-like impact from McCray, but he provides them with much-needed depth with the void Chancellor leaves at the position. Entering his fourth season, McCray has never started a game while recording no more than nine tackles in a single season.
The pressure is heightened for Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas, who will need to make sure the Legion of Boom remains as dominant as it's been in years past. The group will take a significant step backward if Chancellor is absent from the lineup, but the Seahawks will hope role players like McCray can add depth as the team weathers the storm and looks to return to the Super Bowl.
