When you're the most popular human on the planet on social networks, your 140 characters are of considerable worth.

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly makes considerably more than most people do in a year for any sponsored tweet he sends out.

According to AS (h/t CBS Sports) Ronaldo receives upward of $250,000 (£164,600) for each of them. He has more than 37,000,000 followers on Twitter at the moment.

By comparison, a tweet from NBA superstar LeBron James (23,000,000 followers on Twitter) is worth $140,000.

Must be nice.
