WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of August 31
After a week full of tragic news and controversy in the wrestling world, it was certainly refreshing to enjoy some comedy courtesy of WWE-related social media.
The New Day transported its hilarious act to Twitter and Instagram. A clip of Daniel Bryan dancing made folks smile as it made its way around the Internet. Tyler Breeze took an uncomfortable ride thanks to a superimposed image.
Much of the best WWE shareable content was thankfully lighthearted. After stories of a shooting, arrests and racism dominated the week's early headlines, some diversion is just what the WWE fanbase needed.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Some of that came by way of The King of Cuteville's Instagram page. Breeze posted a shot of his battle at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn cut-and-pasted atop a water slide. The results were tremendous:
Hopefully WWE won't get any ideas and start thinking of how to do a No Holds Barred Water Slide match.
A smart idea the company did come up with is to do video profiles of Superstars discussing their tattoos. Corey Graves has so far interviewed Wade Barrett and WWE champ Seth Rollins. The latter conversation was bolstered by the fact that Graves and Rollins have known each other for so long.
As a result, their discussion of what inspired Rollins' tattoos came off as very natural and compelling:
While Rollins has been busy trimming down his entourage of late by distancing himself from Kane and J&J Security, Stardust has gone in the opposite direction. On Thursday's SmackDown, The Prince of Dark Matter watched on in glee as The Ascension attacked Neville on his orders.
Stardust and The Ascension make a good team, aesthetically at least. The face-painted gladiators look right at home at the deranged villain's side.
WWE shared a great photo on Instagram of the new trio:
Perhaps now Viktor and Konnor can have some actual direction and start to acquire some momentum. It will be just in time. The tag team division is suddenly electric thanks to The Dudley Boyz's return.
In a celebration of those former tag champs' being back in action, WWE compiled clips of Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley putting folks through tables:
It's the kind of enthralling, theatrical violence that makes WWE such a good escapist avocation. And we're sure to see more broken tables and dazed faces throughout the course of The Dudley Boyz's feud with The New Day.
That rivalry is playing out onscreen as well on Twitter. Thank Big E for much of that. He continues to further the feud online with jabs at his enemies' age like this one:
The key to The New Day's recent surge in popularity goes beyond its wit. Some of it is the result of its silly shtick. That's something fans can witness both on WWE TV and via social media.
The New Day provided quite an amusing image by taking a Segway to make its way backstage:
Animator Glenn Lazo is clearly inspired by what The New Day is doing. He created a GIF of the group dancing and posted it to Twitter:
Not to be outdone, Bryan did some dancing of his own. His round of booty-shaking, though, was for a good cause.
He shared a video of his dance moves to raise awareness for pediatric cancer:
WWE fans would surely much rather prefer to see Bryan competing in the ring, but this is a fun video that begs to be shared. Besides, one has to tip his hat to the former world champ for continually being such a big advocate for kids.
The company promoting Childhood Cancer Awareness Month won't get the kind of media attention as the negative stories will. That's the nature of the business. That's certainly doesn't mean it won't be the kind of thing fans choose to make viral on social media.
