Victor Oladipo Gives 2 Fans the Shoes off His Feet for an Autograph

Drew CorriganSep 3, 2015

Imagine walking up to one of your favorite NBA players and asking for an autograph. The task in itself seems daunting, and you probably already ran through 10 different scenarios where the player turns you down and walks away.

Instead of that nightmare, imagine if the NBA stud actually obliged and took it one step further.

That's exactly what Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo did when he was approached for autographs at the NBA's "Hoops for Hunger" program at an elementary school in Central Florida this week, according to NBA.com. A young student at the school asked the guard for his signature, and of course Oladipo said yes.

But he went beyond a normal, run-of-the-mill signature.

Wearing shoes with his nickname "VO 5" sewn on the tongue, Oladipo took a shoe off his foot, put his signature on it and handed it to the child. Talk about amazing.

Later on, when approached by a teacher for another signature, Oladipo figured he might as well sign his other shoe and hand it off.

Without shoes, he actually had to send someone to a van to get a pair of slides to wear.

Oladipo was happy to give the shoes off his feet, as he said:

"

I just want to show the kids that I'm just like them. Yeah, I play in the NBA and I'm blessed with God-given abilities, but at the end of the day I was once their age, I had a dream to play in the NBA and I had to work hard for my dream to come true. I just came here to interact with the kids to show them that their dreams can come true too if they work hard.

"

This man deserves a standing ovation.
