In spite of Rashad Ross' spectacular showing, the Washington Redskins fell 17-16 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in their preseason finale.

With the running game again struggling to gain traction, Ross carried Washington's offense. He hauled in 10 receptions for 103 yards, one of which for a score. He also contributed as a return man, with a 19-yard return standing as the highlight.

Handed the reins for the game's entirety, Colt McCoy threw for 208 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Skins were done in by big plays. The team surrendered three gains of 40 yards. Stout against the run all preseason, Washington allowed the Jags to tally 120 rushing yards at a clip of 7.1 yards a carry.

The team failed in its bid to finish the preseason undefeated. But in looking at the variety of injuries they've incurred throughout training camp, the Redskins coming out of this one healthy is a win in itself.

Next up, the regular season and the Miami Dolphins.
