Liverpool Transfer News: Huge Deadline Day Rumours Surrounding Reds

Christopher SimpsonSep 1, 2015

Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori could be on the verge of a deadline day loan move to Aston Villa, while Alberto Moreno may be heading to Real Madrid. Jose Enrique, however, appears set to stay at Anfield.

According to the Liverpool Echo's James Pearce, Ilori has turned down a move to Sunderland but is considering a switch to the Midlands:

The youngster joined Liverpool in 2013 but is yet to feature for the Reds, having been loaned out to Bordeaux and Granada in the past two seasons.

With first-team opportunities at Anfield likely to be limited for another year, a move away would help the Portuguese centre-back continue his development.

However, according to Sky Sports' Ben Ransom, "there has been no movement on that at this stage," so it could go right down to the wire.

As for Moreno, Tuttomercato are reporting (via the Daily Mirror's James Whaling) the left-back could be a target for manager Rafael Benitez after Los Blancos allowed Fabio Coentrao to depart for Monaco.

Per Ransom's report, Enrique appears to be staying with the Reds this summer, noting: "Jose Enrique to West Brom is looking less likely this evening because he's only just left Liverpool's training ground. There was also some interest from Sunderland, but it doesn't appear to be materialising."

With Enrique seemingly staying put and Joe Gomez looking impressive since his arrival, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers could potentially consider allowing the Spaniard to depart.

However, as B/R's Karl Matchett notes, Enrique has worn out his welcome at Liverpool and should be moved:

Even if the Reds cannot manage to sell him, they will most likely keep Moreno as he can provide far better cover for Gomez than his compatriot.
