Per the Daily Mail's Jack Gaughan, Hector "is a big, strong, imposing centre-half" though he "does have a tendency to struggle on the turn when going toward his own goal."
Hector recently earned his first call-up for Jamaica's national team and featured for the Reggae Boyz at both the Copa America and CONCACAF Gold Cup against the likes of Argentina, Uruguay and Mexico, as he helped his side reach the final of the latter.
As WhoScored.com demonstrates, one of the Jamaican's core strengths is his ability to win the ball for his team:
Unsurprisingly, the 6'4", 181-pound defender is also dominant in the air. According to Squawka, Hector won 113 aerial duels in the Championship last season.
He is capable of contributing going forward, which he showed with three goals and two assists last year.
The move will allow Hector to continue making first-team appearances this year ahead of linking up with the Blues squad permanently, where he will be able to provide valuable cover at the back.
