Januzaj has featured four times for United this season, including both legs against Club Brugge in the Champions League play-off and the club's match against Aston Villa, in which he scored the decisive goal in the Red Devils' 1-0 win.

The German outfit struggled last season but have started this campaign magnificently, netting a staggering 30 goals in their eight matches in all competitions.

In such a free-flowing, free-scoring side, Januzaj could flourish and develop the incisiveness of his play in the final third, freed from the shackles of United manager Louis van Gaal's slower, possession-based style.

However, with United having shipped off the likes of Robin van Persie, Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao this summer, the youngster might actually find more first-team opportunities at Old Trafford, particularly as it will prove difficult to break into Dortmund's first XI based on their current form.

The Telegraph's Liam is hopeful Januzaj's possible departure could be due to some much-needed, imminent arrivals at the club:

United would be wise to hold on to the 20-year-old until more reinforcements can be brought in, or they will be left even more desperate than they already are.

One such player could be Monaco forward Anthony Martial. According to Le Parisien (h/t Get French Football News), United are pursuing a deal for the 19-year-old. If successful, Januzaj could be freed up for the move to Germany.

The Frenchman hit 12 goals last season and created a further five for his team-mates, so he could be a useful acquisition, and his tallies already show he is more effective at directly contributing than Januzaj, but he's unlikely to come cheap so expect an inflated price for the youngster.

A player who does not appear to be joining the Red Devils this summer is Ajax goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen.

According to Sky Sports (h/t Fox Sports), Ajax director of football Marc Overmars told De Telegraaf: "There is no contact with Manchester United. I have heard nothing from Manchester United."

Cillessen staying in the Netherlands could be a sign that David De Gea is set to see out his contract at Old Trafford, which would give the club a real boost.

Sergio Romero has largely been steady in De Gea's place, but the Argentinian stopper could perhaps have done better in United's 2-1 defeat to Swansea City on Sunday.

Expect the Red Devils to keep hold of De Gea unless Real Madrid are willing to part with one of their stars in exchange for the Spaniard.
