Eifert Comments on Injury
Monday, Nov. 30
"There's protocol with the stinger. I've had it before, I've dealt with it before," Eifert said on Monday morning in regard to the neck injury he suffered in Week 12, per Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
He continued: "Just want to make sure you get your strength back and feeling back in your arm. Whether I would have come back or not, they just kind of said, 'All right you're done, we are not even going to worry about it.' If I had to come in, probably, but I'll be fine."
Eifert Emerging as a Top TE in the NFL
Eifert has been a huge part of the Bengals' offensive success this season with 46 receptions for 522 yards and 12 touchdowns—the latter ranks first in the league among all pass-catchers.
With Eifert out, rookie Tyler Kroft had to step into the lineup. Quarterback Andy Dalton leaned more heavily on wide receivers A.J. Green, Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu as well as the running game with Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard.
Now, with Eifert back, the Bengals' full offensive arsenal is restored.
