Cox Is Lynchpin of Eagles Defense
Now in his fifth season out of Mississippi State, Cox has been a bastion of health throughout his career. He has not missed a game since his rookie season, starting his last 52 games overall. Heading into Sunday, Cox has 13 tackles and four sacks.
Cox signed a six-year, $102 million contract this offseason. The deal included a $26 million signing bonus and more than $63 million in guarantees.
General manger Howie Roseman summed up what Cox means to the team, per Reuben Frank of CSN Philly:
"He's got all the tools. We can build around Fletcher Cox. And the market is what the market is. You can try to distinguish this guy or that guy but it's hard to do that when there's more than one guy. We feel like it's just going to go up for him and that we're never letting him leave the building. And these are all his prime years.
