After his release, Acho commented on his future via his Twitter account:
A sixth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2012, Acho was placed on injured reserve during his rookie season. He was traded to Philadelphia in 2013 before landing on the New York Giants' practice squad.
The Eagles brought Acho back in October 2013. He appeared in six games from Weeks 8-14, recording one tackle, but took on an increased role in 2014 after DeMeco Ryans lost his season to a torn Achilles.
In 14 games last season, Acho had 21 total tackles. The Eagles do have depth at linebacker, with Ryans returning, Kiko Alonso and Connor Barwin in the mix and Mychal Kendricks signing a long-term extension earlier in the week.
Acho was already fighting an uphill battle to get on the field, so an injury was always going to hinder his chances of keeping a job, as this move by Philadelphia shows. He's been able to bounce around early in his career and should catch on when teams know he's healthy, so expect the former Texas Longhorns star to find a new home soon.
